All things Ducks
Tying in with our duckling hatching project we have been exploring lots of duck activities from creating with play dough, paint and feathers to baking cheese and carrot quackers (crackers) in a cooking session. We also focussed on the five little duck rhyme to embed numbers 1-5. Both what the number looks like and matching the numeral to quantity. We had fun freeing the ducklings from the frozen eggs using the pipettes, testing if warm or cold water worked best. We used our fantastic fine motor skills to feed the ducks and chicks using small scoops and also create our very own colourful eggs carefully dripping coloured water from pipettes.

Week beginning 18th May
Children’s Choice and World Bee day.
This week was children’s choice week where the children get to direct their play exploration and learning completely choosing their most favourite activities or focussing on whatever interests them . We had so much fun that we didn’t get many photos along the way, however for us as practitioners this is great because it shows how engrossed everyone was. In the middle of the week we celebrated world bee day and thought about how amazing our little buzzy friends are and the important role they play in the ecosystem
As we close the half term we are busy focussing on the upcoming Feast Day, preparing lots of handmade costumes for our Rainforest’s parade entry and decorations for our stall.
