Our New Reading Arch

Our 2025 Ofsted report asked us to

“Consider developing the reading area so children are motivated to access books by themselves”. Inspection report: Waterbeach Community Playgroup 9 January 2025

We have spent time thinking about and exploring how our children access stories and books and where they naturally choose to do so. We quickly realised that although lots of children enjoy sitting on the mats with cushions beside the book shelves there were quite a few who enjoyed a quieter, cosier area where they could fully immerse themselves in the stories. So we set about finding a solution, and with the help of a very generous donation from a couple who own a local business we were able to provide a lovely new reading arch and beanbags for the children at Community Playgroup.

Thank you once again to the amazing couple who so generously donated the money which enabled us to improve the environment for the children.
